Recovery Location
Newport area, OH -- recovered April 11, 2026 after a community member spotted him in her yard and reported the sighting

Duke is a 10-year-old male mixed breed, tan and black, medium build. He went missing on March 29, 2026 after getting out of a temporary care location near the 1000 block of Hull Rd in Whipple, OH. Duke is not local to Washington County and is not familiar with the area, which makes recovery more complex.

Duke is not friendly toward people or other animals. He will not approach strangers and is likely to flee any direct contact attempt. Do not call out to him, approach him, or attempt to corner him. Dogs with this temperament typically establish a survival range and will relocate if pressured. Sighting reports with exact location and direction of travel are the most valuable tool in this search.
